Software Developer (Secret)
Sourceree is currently seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our team in Suitland, MD or Johnstown, PA for the Office of Naval Intelligence.

About The Role:
Are you interested in joining a mission-driven development team supporting the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) as a Software Developer, where innovation meets impact? In this role, you'll design, build, and maintain secure, high-performance software applications—ranging from government and commercial off-the-shelf solutions to fully custom tools—across both classified and unclassified environments. You'll leverage your expertise in JavaScript, REST APIs, Docker, and BitBucket to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that meet strict government standards. From writing clean, secure code to troubleshooting deployments and contributing to agile team meetings, you’ll play a critical role in sustaining and advancing ONI’s technical capabilities.
Essential Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain software applications, including government off-the-shelf (GOTS), modified off-the-shelf (MOTS), and commercial off- the-shelf (COTS) that are used on Navy systems.
- Perform activities including research, new development, modification, reuse, reengineering, maintenance, or any other activities that result in software products to meet the needs of specific client/business requirements of the Navy.
- Utilize JavaScript coding skills to maintain and sustain current capabilities.
- Develop and maintain source code in compliance with secure coding standards, application STIGS, and all applicable government regulations, guidance, and directions.
- Provide application development support within the Development Team.
- Troubleshoot application deployment.
- Monitor the technical performance of internal systems and perform minor bug fixes as necessary.
- Attend and contribute to company development meetings.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in data engineering and software development.
- Programming Skills: Experience with Python and Java.
- Technical Expertise: Experience with Docker containers, EKS Containers, BitBucket repositories, GraphQL, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, and REST APIs.
- Software Methodologies: Understanding of Agile/Scrum development processes.
- Source Control: Proficiency in Git for source control management.
- Detail-Oriented: Acute attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Work Arrangement: Mainly onsite with some hybrid capability.
- Clearance: Active Secret clearance required, TS/SCI preferred.
